Oil work in progress

Start of a figure painting in oils. This is a copy of my teachers painting, i have to do this one before i get to paint the figure myself in color. So its sort of a master study i guess.

Second one is the start of my new still life, only 2-3 hours in or so, just blocking in the shapes.

New year, new stuff!

This is what I’ve been doing at school in January, part from the two smaller charcoal drawings on the greenish paper which I did before christmas. I included a few pictures of the studio where I work and the project I started today, an awesome skull which I am going to paint! :)

The eye is my first oil painting. Painting is awesome!

The large figure is a work in progress that I started yesterday, we have the model for another 4 weeks but I should be done before that, and maybe get to paint him aswell.

Quick landscape from imagination

I should really do this more often, lots of fun and takes less than an hour.

Half way there

I haven’t been sent the pictures of my school projects yet, expect them to be posted this week though. I did however manage to scan some pages from my sketchbook and some quick figure drawings. I have filled quite a few sketchbooks and done several hundreds of quick 30sec – 10 min gesture drawings this semester but I don’t think its fun for anyone to see all of them, but heres a little excerpt.

Long time no see..

For several reasons i have been unable to update the blog for quite some time. I’m preparing a huge update in the next days with all the stuff i’ve been doing this semester. Anyway, I did some quick 30 min environment studies tonight that I thought I’d share.

New site!

It’s been long overdue, but it’s finally here. An actually designed website!
I’ve felt so ashamed passing the link to the old site around, I mean come on, a webdesigner should have a prettier site than the default wordpress template.

So hope you guys like the new layout! And as usual, i wouldn’t dare make a post without images! Here’s a few pages from my sketchbook.

Big update!

Sorry for not updating more regularly. Heres a huge pile of the stuff i’ve been doing lately, the good, the bad, the ugly..

Finished my first cast a few weeks ago:

This is what i’m working on at the moment, i still have miles to go. It’s a pretty huge leap from the nose, but it’s pretty cool!

1,5h charcoal pose

1,5h pencil pose

20 minute poses. We are not allowed to shade or anything, just get the overall proportions down.

Forgot to post this one, my last bargue copy done in charcoal.

And heres something completely different that I did at home..

A tiny update..

Sorry for not posting more regularly, it’s not like i’ve not been drawing. Quite the opposite, I’m drawing 8-12 hours a day. So obviously theres a huge pile of stuff just waiting to be scanned and uploaded.

I even took a bunch of pictures of some figure drawings I did (they’re a3, so cant scan) but they turned out muddy, so I’m gonna make sure my light setup is better and take some new pics..

Anyhoo, heres two drawings I did for kicks, trying out some new techniques inspired by Veronique Magnaud. I Usually noodle a bit on them during lunch and while having my morning coffee :)

Atelier work

Here’s some of the stuff i’ve been doing lately at the Atelier. I finished my third and final pencil bargue drawing and started doing one in charcoal this week.

Finished third bargue, the belvedere torso.

bargue3

Some bargue figures, these are pretty fast, like 0,5 – 1,5h and they don’t have to be as accurate as the other bargue copies i’ve been doing.
