Blergh, im too tired to write.. but anyways, i’ve been drawing alot lately, sketchbooks are filled but it takes so much time to scan and upload. Time I could spend drawing instead But as usual I never make a post without an image so heres the finished character of the week concept I did.. Wish I didnt have to rush it in the end, but given the amount of time I spent on it I think it turned out okay.

Heyo! Sorry I havent posted anything for a few days, I’ve been kind of busy, was working the entire weekend and didn’t have any time to draw. But anyway, here’s my second bargue drawing completed. Took nearly a week to do it, and I’m glad its over Started on my third one on monday, its waaay harder, i’ll post some progress pics later.

A gladiator sketch for this weeks character of the week. Not sure if I’ll go with this one, just exploring some ideas.

I was flipping through my current sketchbook and found some stuff that I that was fun and that I wanted to share. I haven’t shared any traditional stuff for quite a while and I thought some of you might like em.

These are just random doodles and not very refined I guess… I usually draw stuff like this while watching/listening to the TV.. enjoy -.-v

.. Well my teacher is going to take a final look at it on monday and see if something needs correcting, but should be minor things he said. And since I already picked my next one and taped it to my drawing board I’m calling this one finished I did however notice some things when I looked at it now, but I don’t know if they will need to be corrected in order for me to proceed, but if I must, its fine.

And btw, if you guys don’t know what it means to do bargue studies, the objective is to copy the original drawing within fractions of a millimeter, every line, shadow, form etc. should be exactly like in the original. We’re supposed to be a human copy machine using our eyes, and a plumb line (a string attached to a weight) as tools.

It looks like a really simple drawing, but its really hard (for me atleast ) to get it exactly like the original. Hell i’ve spent more time on this drawing than I do on most of my character of the week entries

Well, sorry I haven’t been posting much lately, its been a busy holidays and I just quit my job to pursue art full time. I started studying at www.atelierstockholm.se this monday, and so far its been awesome! Its a shame I also happened to get really sick the weekend before that so I was really struggling the first days. I even had to day a day off yesterday to go to the doctors. But I feel fine now so it’s all good in the hood.

Anyways, the first week has been really fun so far, our first assignment was to do three pieces so they could see where we are at and so we can look back at them and laugh later

We drew a three hour study of a cast, a 2 hour portrait and I think it was a two hour full figure study. Our first real assignment was to start doing a bargue study, which is where I am right now.  Its tedious but very addictive and fun. The one I picked is a “simple” silouette, but it’s pretty hard to get it exactly like the original. I’ve spent about 10 hours on it already, hopefully i’ll get it done tomorrow and I’ll post it!

Oh and don’t think I’ll make a post without images! Here’s a few sketches, the androidwoman was done tonight and the other thumbnails are for Team Chow III.

Managed to get some painting done after work today, really been enjoying this one. I hope it will turn out as good as I want to it be.

Finished morrigan last night. When I was done I did some faces.. Really fun.

And last but not least, a sketch of this weeks chow. Steampunk Harem. My idea is that the Sultan has constructed these walking mechanical beds so he doesn’t have to run to each of the girls but can have them safely escorted by the machine. All new girls get a mask painfully attached to their face, the Sultan does not wish to see their faces, it makes them less human and there for okay to not treat them as one.

This means i’ve successfully completed 10 character of the week contests in a row. Woho! I thought it would be really cool if I managed to do every single one for a whole year.  So thats 42 to go I guess. Hopefully I’ll become better and be able to see the growth in a neat way.

Finished last weeks chow. Jooonil ride!

Started on this weeks chow today. You’re supposed to personify one of the four seasons. I did these two super quick for spring & winter.

Taking a break from Jonil.. The deadline isnt til monday and im pretty much finished. Gonna let it rest a bit. So i did a little 30 min speedpaint.

Didn’t have alot of time to finish this chow since I was away this weekend. But anyways, here it is. Also spent an hour doodling on a furry retarded creature.

A quick paint job tonight. This is the way i absolutely love to paint, super loose, keeping it zoomed out and just going nuts. And btw, remember to click on the images ’cause wordpress image scaling isnt really doing the images justice, all the subtle nuances of the brush work is kinda lost..
